MK7 aftermarket keyless entry installation

Postby cegy » Sat Apr 26, 2025 5:41 pm

Hi,

I have bought an 2008 MK7 transit about half a year ago. Among other things, the buttons on the key do not work. I have checked the battery in the key, charged battery in the van. I have used flipper zero to check wide range radio spectrum and while I press a button on the key, I see some radio activity so I assume the key itself works.

Anyway, I have decided to try to install an aftermarket keyless entry system instead of debugging the current one.

I have found some info here on the forum, about wires going to BCM that could do the locking/unlocking. I however really do not want to mess with BCM much.

In the drivers door, there are the following wires, that seem to be going to the actuator. Could I tap into these wires to send the lock/unlock signals? If so, what wires would that be...they are unfortunately not marked.

Thank you!
