Red flashing light

Got a red flashing light on my van and wont start its a mk7 2.4 rwd its just had 2 new batteries and when I plug in obd it wont read any ideas ive checked all the fuse

Do you interior lights work..?? Have you checked fuse # 73 in the BCM...

Yeah lights work and fuse is ok

Is this the immobiliser light you’re on about?

What tool are you using to read the codes? Transits are funny about what they want used. Usually IDS or Forscan are the go to software.

Well after loads of checks sent ecu and clocks off to be checked

instrument cluster is beyond repair that's what's at fault been told need a new one anyone know if it needs coding to the van ?

Not sure about coding but you’ll need the mileage changing afaik. Unless that info is stored in the BCM/PCM/ECU I’m not sure.

Mk7 mileage is stored in the clocks themselves.

No it doesn't need coding, but, as above, you're stuck with whatever mileage is stored in the clocks that you buy.

I believe somebody like our "Vantuner" may be able to "manipulate" the mileage...but I suspect he'd need the van with clocks fitted to do that.
