Oil around injectors.

Postby PLEDGEY » Mon Jun 02, 2025 4:10 pm

2013 plate FWD, SWB, 2.2 MK 7 .Took the air filter housing and rubber cover off and the first 2 injectors, going left to right, have oil all around them, it's on the under side of the rubber cover as well. Also, when the van is running on tick over, and you take the oil filler cap off, a white vapour/mist comes out, not all the time, just after you take the cap off. It seems to be blowing out the cap, like it's under pressure. Any one got an idea what this could be, cheers!.

Almost certainly injector seals.

Be sure to ream / clean the seats when refitting new copper washers.

Be sure to replace the stretch bolts too.

Not sure on your euro5 but euro 4 is 6nm plus 180 turn..

Hopefully someone can confirm for you..

I got it booked in for an MOT on the 16th of this month. I'll just get them to do it. This van is driving me nuts!. Is it still O.K. to drive?. I'm doing literally 10 mile a day at the moment. Cheers.

Yh absolutely fine, keep eye on oil levels.

I normally suggest changing the oil after doing seals though not absolutely necessary.

Cheers

Just watched a few vids of people changing the seals and going to give it a go my self. Ordered an injector seat ream kit, a washer puller tool, injector seat brush cleaning kit, injector seals, bolts, washers and an inspection camera. Just gonna' take it easy, from what I can gather it's a 17mm flat cutter, use grease to collect swarf, don't get injectors mixed up. Got 2 chances....fingers crossed. :D

Pretty much mate.

Take your time your be fine.

Injectors can be tight to get out but give them a twist and should pop out

A bit of cardboard with some holes in to bank them in order is a good idea

Fookin ell mucker your going for with all that gear you've ordered
On another note with your engine being a euro 5 it may well need a replacement cam cover as the crank case breather is part of this and can cause the problem your having if faulty, only 10mls a day isn't good for these engines your said its driving you nuts ..... with what????

All of the parts and tools came to......£75, all off Ebay, that's why I thought I'd have a go myself. For the last 3 years I been driving 100 mile a day, but the last 6 months the jobs been on my doorstep, hence the 10 miles. I do take it for a blast down to Exeter when I see the D.P.F. differential pressure start to go up.. I've had a new engine at 70k, no end of D.P.F. issues that no one was able to fix. I ended up getting a diagnostic tool with a live data feed and, after watching videos on Youtube, took the whole D.P.F. off and cleaned it, replaced the vaporiser that was blocked and replaced a dead d.p.f.differential pressure sensor. Had it back in the garage for, I think, the issue I got now twice. Going to order a crank case as if it is a blocked breather and they didn't replace it last time it'll happen again.

think euro 5 is indicated by the orange rubbers on the inside ..they seem to be sort of orange on that one

so if you have euro 5 its the right one.

and the vendor is saying in description

FORD TRANSIT MK7 2.2 TDCI (2011-2014)
FORD TRANSIT MK8 2.2 TDCI (2014 ONWARDS)
FORD TRANSIT CUSTOM 2.2 TDCI (2012 ONWARDS)

BTW ..someone here bought one off ebay here were the holes weren't drilled through ..so always a risk

all the best.mark
