The engine runs fine with no smoke and starts good, Drives with plenty of pull some of the time, but othertimes more often when changing gear from 2nd to 3rd etc it can hold back,so rev it more and then it leaps off fairly responsive and dumps some black smoke out of the exhaust.
Strange thing is,when the engine is in warm up mode from cold, the eratic acceleration and black puffs of smoke are non existant.
Inlet system gundged - when warmed up gundge slews off - gundge from rocker box - oil particles - to inlet pipe before turbo, also pre' or present turbo bearing oil leak to inlet side.
Oil particles adhere to pipe innards.
Exhaust restriction.
Excessive fuel injected/unburnt fuel soot lines the inside of the exhaust, - valves, rings, piston, bore, injector wear - small amount of fuel may result in white smoke.
