Dash heater vent

Hi guys

Of the 4 vents, the one just left of the indicator stalk the wheel dont operate the flap, iv taken then vent out and have manually opened the flap with my fingers ! Gosh

I assume the rod or whatever connects the wheel to the flap has broken..

Whats the easiest way to get to it and is a part available you know of..

Can you take the whole thing out? I know in my right 1 of the steering wheel the cover comes off but the wheel etc is probably not from the front. I was able to fit a safety pin around the broken bit on mine and it let it work. If you can't then maybe glue it open
