Two pin connector help/guidance needed

Postby veitchy » Sun Sep 28, 2025 3:20 pm

Hey guys, I brought my MK7 second hand and I need to change the rear light that is on the back door.

The previous owner filled the internal channel with expanding foam which made the light fitting swell allowing water to gain entry.

This has popped/blown/burnt the light.

Upon inspection I have brought a new light unit however I am unable to plug and play because the two pins that have blown are stuck inside the live male end from the battery.

I have used a multimeter and the power levels and continuty are all good.

I am trying to located the generic ford two pin connector or maybe create a work around.

I wondered if anyone could help or had experience with this.

The connector could be cut from a scrapper?

A lot of the cheap LED high level brake lights also have wires that come out of them - chop that connector off and solder the wires?
