Error codes. EGR?

Hi

I am experiencing heavy thick smoke of start up and loss of power.

I have had this every winter and it starts around this time of year and stops when it gets warm in the spring. It has happened last few years.

When I get the engine warm and after running the heavy smoke clears. It is either thick black smoke but sometimes grey/white.

Once it clears after warm up/running down the road with high revs for 5mins then it stays good all day. No smoke. But slight loss of usual power/punch.

I plugged it into forscan and it picked up these codes all relating mainly to EGR valve. But I had a new EGR valve last year?

So I am stumped. Ignore the non EGR valve codes as these relate to a door that does not lock and a temperature controll sensor.

It’s the EGR ones I am concerned with.

What can I do? How can I further diagnose? What could be causing these repeat symptoms?
Are there any tests I can do?
