2012 plate engine bay fuse board and loom

Postby johng76 » Mon Dec 22, 2025 6:41 pm

hi transit community been having a nightmare and hoping for some luck here or the van may just have to be scrapped.
engine went and along with it the loom burnt out, cant put the new engine in until the loom and fuse board are replaced but it turns out ford don't make it and the ones i have bought online are not exactly the same as in a couple of leads have different plugs that don't fit the van. the part number of the existing is (6C1T-14A067-Ab) ordered part with same number but two of the leads did not match, so it would seem i need the loom from a 2012 plate long wheel base rwd . does anyone no why two of the plugs would be different and how i could possibly get the right one? tried local scrap merchants but none have it. any help would be great as the van is very tidy and seems such a waste to just scrap it.
many thanks for you time

Let me explain why it's so hard ... go here ,

http://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en&l= ... NDE4MDE%3D

Then you press on the "Wiring - Engine And Transmission" just one route of many!

Then you are faced with probably Over 100 choices of loom.. ones with AC , ones with traction control , ABS , FWD , RWD

Think you will end up going to the ford dealer .. giving them your vin number, you then want the 7 digit part number off them . hopefull that, put into ebay, will turn up some brand new old stock ford item. when you put that part number in.

You could put your vin number into the catcar.info site above .. but to be honest , i don't know what road it will take you down.

Or pull the loom off it .. and get some professional electric car engineer (AUTO ELECTRICIAN) to rebuild it, then because of the burn out you may have failed modules.

Or you bite the bullet.. you now have couple of looms, enough to build one yourself .. but still may have module problems.

What plugs are wrong?
It could be a simple swap and splice job.

But saying that.....

My first suspension is you may be dealing with E4 and E5 vans/harnesses as generally on the Mk7s I've found that the plugs will either be there or not be there rather than being different.
Low spec lower powered harnesses have far less wiring/plugs that a high spec harness.

What are the specs on your van.
Year of manufacture (rather than registration date).
Engine size. (2.2/2.4)
Engine power ?PS
Euro4/Euro5
RWD? by the sounds of it...
Aircon y/n
High spec or poverty spec clocks (buttons in the dash clocks or multifunction stalk on the LHS of steering column.
