Mk7 central locking

Postby Evolution80 » Sat Feb 21, 2026 12:09 pm

Bit of a strange one. I have a Mk7 based motorhome that had to have a replacement PCM + BCM, these were purchased second hand. Injectors all coded in successfully, with engine running great again.

Issue I have is BCM was from Mk7 transit with rear doors (My motorhome doesn't) Using central locking it locks and unlocks when locking and won't stay locked. I have removed fuse to central locking as short term to secure manual locking.

How would I go about deleting rear door?

All help appreciated.

Mk7 2006 to 2011 E4 - 2011 to 2014 E5 different.
Forscan on the E5 has available a choice of how the door locks alarms work.
It is not simple to see what is meant/what happens by the info' supplied.

Is there a way to find out whether I have a E4 or E5? It is 2011. I’m presuming I would need to obtain forscan with appropriate obd connector. Can a “delete” of rear doors be achieved with this or do I need to look at other avenues?

Sorry, all confusing for me anyone central Scotland that I can take van to for changing code and also looking to have a 2nd key cut. I have fob that I’m hoping can be paired.

You need to know the year of manufacture. 2006 to Sept 2011 E4. Sept 2011 to 2014 E5. Could be the 26th of Sept E4 to E5.
The previous post is wrong and has been corrected. 2006 2014. should be 2011.

If it has a DPF it is E5. If E5 the fuel system is Siemens Continental. The Vin number put into Catcar may show the year of manufacture.

There is a vid on youtube I think he changes the starter rotatary contact/ key he has other vids seems to know the stuff. He is in Scotland.

I will have a look for that video to reach out. I must have E4 as no DPF on mine thankfully.

Thanks so far for input.
