Where i can find Ford Transit 2009 blend door actuator?

Postby Painkiller1971 » Sat Mar 07, 2026 10:24 am

Hi, it's a Ford Transit from 2009, it only blows warm air. I've found out enough online that the fault could be in the heater control motor, i.e. the blend door actuator. But where can I find it? I've already removed the glove box and the big plastic covers on the bottom of the console all the way and I haven't been able to find anything on the internet that looks like it. I usually find a video or picture of the location of the problem in Finnish or English, but I couldn't find it this time. I'd like to thank you in advance if anyone has any tips on where to go to find it? I even went to look in the engine room but couldn't. Thanks to everyone

This is as near as i can get you with the info you've given .. as you haven't said if it has air con or rear air con or non air con standard.
many choices here

Now that we're talking about air conditioning, it seems to me that the refrigerant has escaped when the air conditioning doesn't blow cold air in the summer, so is the air conditioning somehow related to this particular fault, when it only blows warm air, or could it be that the actuator is faulty?

Blend door actuator failing is common
Refrigerant loss is common after so many years

The only way you can tell how much refrigerant is lost, is to hook it up to an air con service machine, suck the the refrigerant out .. the machine will then weigh it,
Refrigerant can be lost from many places .. number 1 place is: the valves where you charge it from, consisting of "low side valve" and "high side valve" other places are the core inside the dash called the evaporator or the core/radiator at the front of the van called the condenser.

There are many ways of finding the leaks
1 Is an ultra violet black light - will show leaks as refrigerant has in it a florescent die
2 A sniffer --- an electronic probe that detects the gas.

After looking at the diagrams on catcar info .. you should by now know where the blend door actuator is located .
The blend door actuator consists of the little gearbox and a motor ... the gearbox has plastic gears .. they fail and can often be heard making a clicking noise when failed.

Note: Some cars require whole dash removal to replace damaged AC parts .. some don't .

Thank you very much, I still have to ask that when I open that catcar info and there page 4120210B, is the part number 19E616 the actuator in question? Many thanks again for the answers

Well if , when you picked 41202108, if that was the right page - as there are two choices of AC system,,, then diagram ref 19E616 is the right part ID ( note:numbers on diagram are not part numbers).. pressing on that number on the diagram makes the page scroll down and it gives you the ID of the item plus the 7 digit ford part number, which is 1056313.

if you put that part number into ebay with the word ford--- like this ------
ford 1056313
it not only gives you results for the blend door actuator motor/gearbox combo ... but now there is a German kit to repair it, showing in the results with brass gears instead of plastic.

You can pick from the results .. price as low as unbranded china for £22. rising . right up to genuine ford for £221 or the brass gear repair kit from Germany for £33

The German brass gear repair kit.. is i think "NEW ON THE MARKET" new idea, there is no discussion here from anyone that has tried it.

if you go down the brass gear route, be sure to come here and give a review of it .

A certain level of skill is required .. not for ham fisted and requires; table top, you sitting in a chair to disassemble.
Skill level .. if you can install a battery in a digital watch .. then you are ok with this

Oh forgot to say .. sometimes the reason for failure is : something has fallen through the vents and ended up jamming the door so don't forget to check this . this could be glass from a failed windscreen in the past or coffee stirring sticks, coins etc.

Thank you very much. Now I know and saw where that actuator is, today I'm going to wonder how I can get it off, since it's in a pretty difficult place to remove. Many thanks, let's see how it goes with the part removal

Now I finally got that actuator off and opened it up. Nothing is broken inside, I tested the electric motor with the car battery but it didn't turn, so is it a bad one? If I had that now as a precaution, I could try it. Someone also suggested the interior temperature sensor as the fault, although not where it is located, so I'll have to dig a bit more.

well i don't know how you tested the motor, googling suggests there multiple pins on it , and because this may be a STEPPER motor may work in a way ..that you or deffo me is not familiar with.

i would have tested it hooked up to the multiplug and operated the cars controls or run it through forscan .

plus - have a look at the cars fuse diagrams in the owners manual to see if it has a fuse that is blown

So problem solved, the electric motor in that actuator was broken, I ordered a new actuator which is now installed and working, although that part was in a really awkward place.
