Mk8 drw rims on a mk7 Drw?

Hi guys after looking and looking for some euroliners to fit a mk7 with no joy I’m now toying with fitting mk8 Drw rims as I can buy the euroliners no probs for those!
Now I’ve googled it and ai says other than the width everything else lines up apart from you need mk8 wheel nuts as mk7 as differently shaped where they sit in the rim.
Does anyone know if this is true as looking at pics of mk7/mk8 rims the stud holes look the same to me?
