Hi all,
I posted in technical help regarding a strange noise I had when approaching 3000rpm

I now think I have a panel/some component vibrating as the noise is only heard in the cab and when capturing the spectra the noise peaks at 315Hz regardless of RPM, giving me confidence that my engines ok.

Does anyone have experience with these vans is there any known panels that I should put mass on to try and prevent booming/resonance?

by chance do you have any of the scuttle panel ends missing (bit that sits around bonnet hinges when bonnet is up...see pic)

Hi!
First off, I wrote on your older post about the pump learn fail with "short to v-batt" message. Did you ever solve that? If so, how? Also, did the van have an alternate mapping or egr delete? I'm curious on your case as I'm facing the same issue and trying to figure out the solution

For your booming sound, since it's rpm and not speed related, I have a feeling it's air causing the resonance somewhere. I'd inspect all air tubes for any loose fitting, out-of-shapeness etc, and also the air filter box; I once had a similar booming that seemed rpm related on a Vivaro that gave me the chills, thought engine was about to fail but it turned out it was only the cover on the air filter box that was not properly sealed/fitted, and it would cause this booming resonance when air was dragged through it as certain speeds. Also a good idea to check along the exhaust side of air piping etc, and that hole you mentioned in other thread is worth investigating; just because it didn't make noise before doesn't mean it wouldn't now, as the hole might have changed shape and aquired some resonant charateristics. Could try a quick clean and just making a tight gaffer tape (or similar) cover over the hole and near area, take it for a quick test drive to hear if the boom changes?
Other, more learned members of the forum, might have better input than me here, but hopefully I contributed something at least
