Rotten suspension mount - how f***ed am I?

I have put so much time into welding this van up, engine is sweet, I love it to bits but i just went digging and found this hole in the front leaf spring hanger. If its fairly localised is it possible to weld it up? I have a the same piece off a RWD model which is solid. The top side where it mounts to the van is different but bottom half identical i believe.

I know what it really needs is an entirely new one welded on but until I find that and somewhere to do the work, can I make it safer for now? I need to move about 500kg in it this weekend.

looking at the pictures in the above ebay link , seems to be double skinned area has rotted through ..(as if designed to do that .. they could have made it from one thickness )
its up to you .. so perhaps put a adjustable wrench on the edge of it and try to move it back a and forth to ascertain how week its become .. you make the choice ... not me .. as i cant or no one else can from here as we cant fully inspect it . if it does not crumble or flex then you may be good to go for a couple of months.

if only that hole and the rest of mount is solid I'd cut the bad bit out and put a patch in it (if your good at welding), 500kg won't make a difference to it I've seen much worse carrying heavier than 500kg

That does look like the right bit mark tho this is MWB not SWB. It is FWD though so I'm guessing it's the same.

Thanks for the advice all. My plan is to completely replace it as soon as I can as I want to keep the van and invested plenty in it. Ive dared to attack it with a wire wheel and this is what I've found

It seems its mainly that bubble shape thats rotted from the inside. I agree they could have made it from one piece, but then how would the salt and water get trapped against the steel?

The rest of it is pretty solid and I'm not running anywhere near capacity. I will carry as little load as possible. I did 400 miles riding near the bumpstops in june and it surely hasn't got significantly weaker since then. So my plan is use the van as planned, but give it as gentle a life as possible, until I can replace the hanger.

I could try to weld but is it worth it if I'm gona replace the whole thing soon?
