Postby Kimmo » Mon Sep 14, 2026 3:23 pm

Hello from cold finland!

just got my PCM/ECU cloned and guy who did this noticed that there is small difference in ECU? does anyone knows what this chip do?
Both ECU are same number except last letters are GC and AP

You haven't told us the part number of the unit nor what vehicle it's for..?? Mk6 or Mk7..?? Year model..?? Euro-3, 4 or 5..?? FWD or RWD..?? Custom or normal van..?? Camper, Luton, recovery or tipper..?? What accessories are fitted..?? 5 or 6 speed..?? 2.0L, 2.2L 2.3L, 2.4L or 3.2L..??

There's too many variables and each PCM will differ from the next depending on what you have.

Normally a change in the part number suffix will possibly be a minor PCM design change or even a firmware update, but unfortunately we won't know what that change would be or what it does.
