Is it an aftermarket alarm or the standard ford one?
The standard one on our works van certainly flashes the indicators.

Press the arm / lock button twice
Once to lock 2nd is deadlock & alarm on mine
Alarm only sounds the horn not a siren on factory fitted unit

Are you sure it has one ?
No one else I know has a Ford one fitted I chose it as an extra option
I dont think they were ever a standard fit
Might be wrong though

The indicators should flash twice regardless of alarm fitment.

It's to confirm the double locking.
The alarm also does have seperate sounders for the alarm, they just sound like the horn. Depending on build you'll either find them inside the "B" pillar near the seat belt reel, or they're in the doors.

If yours isn't flashing, but the locking is working, have a look at the fuses.
you'll find them by looking under the dash on the drivers side.

look directly above the brake pedal, you'll see a loom running to the back of the instrument cluster, somewhere along that loom you'll see 2 fuse holders taped to the loom. They both have 15amp fuses in of the larger type, so you can't nick some out of the other fuse box. I suspect one of them is blown.
