The 6000 single slot is a straight swap.

Without having an item to exchange the cost is expensive, for what it costs to get a 6000 with average cd sound, you could get a normal single din HU with mp3 capability and higher cd audio quality.

If your considering ebay, have a look for the 6000 mp3, they were fitted in focus and look the same as the standard 6000 single disc but with added mp3 capability.

The only MP3 I've seen had a silver front :( Not sure if they're all like that, Nighthawk?
I've got the 6006 CD multichanger but it skips like a b*****d! I keep meaning to try and sort it but it seems they all do it, don't get one!

Yes mine is better with some CDs than others. Originals work best. It seems really sensitive to condensation, if it's cold in the morning sometimes it won't play anything :( then once it's warmed up it starts plying again.
A lot of the reason could be that I don't have the small plastic ptece that attaches to the back of the radio and supports it on the underside of the dash. Anyone got a spare?

Tossed my ***cough*** OEM radio out and slotted in a nice Pioneer, closed the top part of the facia with a cover plate from that dreadfull Halfords place they call a shop for £13-99, bought a plug adaptor coversion cable £13-99 but was speedily returned once I visited a scrappy and snipped off a standard double connector from a Rover, soldered in and presto and works very nicely, there's one wire you dont use on the Ford radio harness and dont know what it does and no its not the radio illumination circuit.
