The shoes can be replaced with the hub in place, but if the axle has leaked oil, the hub must come off.
Mark the wheels in relation to the hub and also mark the drum, putting them back in the place they came off will greatly reduce the chances of brake judder.
the ½ shaft will come out when you undo the bolts, the drum will* slide off the hub.
with the drum off and the shaft out, you'll need a BIG socket to undo the nuts, once the nuts and the locking tab are off the hub will slide off the axle tube.
replace the seals and make sure everything is clean, re build the lot making sure to set the preload on the bearings correctly.

* the drum might be tight to get off, a couple of clacks with a large hammer will usually do it, if your unlucky though, you'll need to adjust the shoes down to enable the drum to slide free.
If you have little mechanical experience, let a garage do it. Brakes aren't the right thing to take a guess on. and if you overtighten the bearings, it'll chuck it's hand in very quickly.
