shock absorbers!

Also, upon taking my beloved transit for MOT, it failed on shock absorbers? again the specifics are coming tomorrow. I was wondering if the absorber itself, comes as a complete unit or they are a internal and require spring compression tool to replace. That's of course if it's absorbers at all? someone mentioned to me that it could be bushes? Again, not too sure as i don't know the specifics.

I have had a search on here but can't find any info on this, any advice much appreciated.

they could be leaking or weak or the bushes on the rears could be worn out

on these the fronts are struts requiring a spring compressor and the rears are just conventional shocks

brilliant. I had noticed an occasional knocking when driving over those dreaded speed bumps, from the front it seems to be coming. and upon driving it accross a field the knocking was quite prominant, due to the roughness of the field no doubt.

alrighty then, the inspector has been in touch;

n/s front shock leaking
o/s rear shock leaking

hopefully this is not gonna be too expensive. i am told that the front shocks are inserts so the whole thing doesn't need replacing, just the insert itself. hope this wil bring the cost down a little.
I am awaiting a quote from Lex for this, i'll let you know what it comes to.
