MK 6 reverse light switch

Hey guys, I recently found out my reverse lights are not working so checked the bulbs and fuse (although not sure which fuse it is) which seem fine so had a look for the reverse light switch on the gearbox casing. Is the switch on the upper part of the casing (where you can't see) or underneath which would be a lot easier to mess with? Would it be a case of soldering the wires to a new switch, if it is indeed the switch at fault?

One more thing, do all the transit motors have turbo's in this range? I'm not that clued up in this area but was told it has a turbo however goes like it doesn't. It's a 350 90PS 2.4.

Yeh all mk6's have turbos

On the 2.4 you lie down on the ground and the reverse switch is kinda on the top corner of the box, on the passenger side. It just plugs in/out, no soldering

Hi all can anyone know or give me the measurements from the base of the reversing switch to the end of the ball. Mine works on the bench but it's not making contact when putting it in gear. Thinking the switch maybe the wrong one. ( Short) that's why it's not making contact.

unplug the connector and join the 2 wires on it using a wire/ small split pin. see if your reverse lights are on, if they are, its the switch
