Leaky roof..

I have noticed today in the 'lovely' english weather that my roof has started leaking in one of the sides at the rear.

Mk6 T280 SWB low roof

It is basically, when you open the rear doors, near to the edge of the roof is a sort of seam/overlap of roof (sorry if that doesnt make sense ) Well on the left side of the van its starting to rust and is letting water in.

Is this common?

How would i stop this, abit of sealant/ silicone over the top of it on the roof?

tbh mate how the seal is designed on the back doors of these is a bit gay really,,mine was the same ,,clear silicone was the best i could come up with too

almost all MK6 vans leak on that roof seam cos its not sealed with sealer, only painted, if you look at a late MK6 or a MK7 you will see they have a run of sealer along the outside of the seam

You're better off using seam sealer.
Had a 52 reg works van that had this done under warranty.
