Is this an LPG equipped vehicle?

Have you had the plugs checked?

The coils fail because of the excessive current being generated.

as said check the plugs first - a wide gap will over drive the coil as will a weak mixture - is it the same cylinder every time?

check the colour of the plugs as well - in particular uif that plug is a different colour - a weak mixture will cause the firing voltage to rise so you need to find out if that cylinder is running weaker than the other three

If a coil has gone down, it'll affect 2 cylinders, so be sure to check both the plugs fed from the bad coil.

I'd check the lead too, if it wasn't replaced first time round change it now.

one half of a double ended coil can go down on it's own (happens to fiats a lot) - whats the set up on these then - is it like the galaxy?

if it is - is it the plug the coil sits on or the one attached to the lead thats going down - as nighthawk said if it's the lead side then the lead could be causing it

another thing to check (will need checking with a 'scope though) is the trigger signal to the double ended coil thats failing

I don't see any petrol transits all the firms I deal with have diesels
