New Brake Disc

Postby flateric13 » Thu Aug 03, 2006 8:06 am

Hi Guys

I have to replace the front brake discs on the transit (350 2.4tdi lwb).

I had a quick look at the manual, its says that i need some ford tools to complete the job!?

I've done discs on cars before but it usually just a case of taking the wheel off, removing the caliper then one screw for the disc and bobs your uncle!

Whats special about the discs on a transit?

Is it a nightmare job? Do i need the special tools?

Just thought i'd ask the experts before i make a real hash of it!!

cheers for now

Jason

It can be a pig of a job, if i were you i would get a set of wheel bearings just in case as they can get damaged when doing the discs.

Its a straightforward job with the special tools and a press. I definitely wouldn't try doing it unless you've got both.
