Why did you go for the least output engine in the first placetruckin in a trannie wrote:I've just recently purchased a 2001 t260 75ps transit, with 110,000 miles on the clock. everything about it is exectly what i need in a van except the performance. i first took it into a local commercial ford dealer to have a look at and after charging me £200 pounds told me, it doesn't rev above 4500rpm and its the fuel pump that is causing the problem, and they wanted to charge £1450 to change it. I took it to a fuel inspection specialist and they repaired the fault on the pump for £495, but it is still delivering the same performance, so they took it back to another ford dealer to plug back into there machine (again) and still it is showing no fault. It really struggles pulling away from junctions and going up even the slightest of inclines. I am open to any suggestions because even the so called professionals haven't got a clue. Thanks for your time.

As you don't know its history, I'd start from scratch and slowly replace all the filters, quality ones, no rubbish, oils, plugs, leads, etc. Then I'd put it on a dyno/rolling road for some power tests, this might through up some clues.
There must be something amiss but don't despair, it really is a super van.
