Wow - doing rear disc on an 08 Transit for the first time.

I really thought that Ford had obtained the ultimate in stupid designs with their front disc arrangement!

But hey - with a lot of perseverance and practice - they have managed to excel themselves and come up with an even more crazy design!!!!

Don't the f**kers even look at other manufacturers vehicles????

Ok,

Pressing the Disc off didn't do much except threaten to crack the disc.

Spoke to the local stealers and managed to talk to an actual mechanic.

He said ignore the press and warnings about hammers.

Chisels hammered between the back of the wheel stud and the disc. We had three thin chisels and tapped them in slowly and evenly and then went up a size once the disc moved slightly.

You would never think that about 8mm of interference could be so tight! Wondering if pressing the disc distorts it and tightens it further? No sign of anti seize anywhere. :(

mk 7 RWD what is the size of the rear axle hub nut behind the halfshaft and what is the size of the torx bolts holding the discs to the hub? , also can you normally get the hub off without a puller? cheers chaps.

Hi all. Went to do my rear discs but the bearings are seized on. Any ideas how to remove them with basic tools or anybody close to Bridgend, South Wales I could lend or loan a hydraulic puller from.
Thanks in advance

Ummm....this thread is 7 1/2 years old so I doubt they're watching.

Do you have a FWD or RWD..?? I'm assuming FWD..?

Mine were completely stuck. Tried everything but they wouldn't budge. In the end it was about £70 for a pair of hub bearings which I was more than happy with. Then made replacement of the discs very easy.
