loosing power on take off

Postby swiftsportvan » Tue Nov 20, 2012 6:54 pm

I have a 2009 connect sport van and it has been playing up. when its cold i have no problems but when its warmed up it drops power when taking off as though its about to stall then all of a sudden takes off. it has also totally dropped power and wont go above 1500 revs and the multi funtion warning light comes on. When i turn it off and turn it on again it resets and has no problems. I have had it on a diagnostic and come up that there is nothing wrong no fault code is displayed. If anyone has any idea what this could be i would really appreciate advise thank you.

Your Connect takes off??

I obviously haven't found the button on mine where the wings come out the side...

It's not an accelerator-pedal issue is it?
Connects seem to have a tendancy to lose all power on the throttle once in a while and just tick over, but power is restored on re-starting the van. (This doesnt explain the 1500rpm bit though...)
However, when the throttle pedal died to me, no warning lights came up.
Pedals aren't the cheapest things, but are easy to change.

Im not saying this is the solution to your problem, but it might be a good start...

I suspect your engine cannot cope with the diesel. Have you tried kerosene and a longer runway? :D
