Pollen filter changing?

Postby gt_addict » Thu May 12, 2011 1:04 pm

Hey guys, could you possibly tell me where the pollen filter is an how to change it please? In my old focus it was underneath the passenger side scuttle panel. Would it be in the same place on the connect?

Thanks.

Cheers lads. Changed it yesterday, the old one was solid and black with loads of debris and crap lol. I went to fords to get a new sealing strip (my old focus had to have it changed when you changed the pollen filter) but they don't list one so just fitted it back. Fingers crossed I won't get water in my footwell lol

Sorry to churn up an old thread. Just got into mines as there is water comming into the footwell of mines and there isn't a lid covering the actual filter. Should there be And is this why mines is leaking??

Thanks

it only has a meshed cover if it hasnt got a filter, the connect has a metal plate screwed just under the scuttle panel and that deflects the water away from the filter

mine has filter and mesh cover on as did my focus. the early focus pre 01 didn't have the channel on underside of scuttle panel then ford added it to cure the wet footwell prob.i used to get the updated one's off a guy on ebay for £20 and they had a better sealing strip on than the bit of foam you get from ford. it was a black mastic when pressed onto windscreen it really did stick and seal. Don't waste your money at ford get some Tigerseal off ebay :D

Gentlemen,

Apparently my fan resistor burnt because there wasn't any air flow to cool it due to a stuck pollen filter. So I bought a new filter, removed the filter frame to find a filter crammed into it HARD. The filter was original, the code correct, dealer said there's only one type of filter available: XS4H-19G244-AA, so was the filter frame correct. The problem is that the filter is 10 mm bigger on both edges and when you compress it that much it will distort enough to let air pass it.

Am I alone with it or is it normal?

Okay, got a Peugeot 406 filter, shorter by 15 mm in lenght but that's no problem. Tried all kinds of filters from different vendors, all are too big.

Just an idea, might someone have cut the plastic mesh out and left the plastic frame of the mesh in the hole??????

Um, where does the filter insert? The previous one was inside the plastic mesh frame.
