Changed temprature sender today but the pin when the van is of drops about a cm under the cold mark and when warms up is just above cold! Do you think the pin need taking of and putting on correctly

" the pin " you mean the needle on temp dial. shouldn't need to be moved unless its been moved wrongly before !! or gauge not getting proper info or faulty gauge.

iv got a problem with the needle on the temp gauge and the rev counter needle also, i think the problem with mines is to do with the speedo unit. i can take the speedo clocks and gauges out and reset the needles to where they should be, then put them back in and when i turn the key to start the engine the needles moves below the place where they should sit, each time i start the van those needles move down abit more and i end up with them so far down i dont get a reading lol on the rev counter when i start the engine it should sit below the 1000 revs but it sits at zero when the engine is just ticking over, when i bought the van it worked fine until i took the unit out to clean it and noticed straight away when i put the unit back in place.

Different colour code rings on sensors give different resistances, your new one has too much resistance by the sounds of it.
