Seat fitting plates

Postby daveronimo » Thu Nov 01, 2012 1:42 pm

Just received my fitting plates from mod your transit. Has anyone used these?
If so could you give me an idea how you went about fitting them? I will be using Focus ST seats.

Cheers

remove your old seats and fit the plates in this order using your old seat bolts

this now gives you something to bolt your st seats to.focus st seats bolt flat/straight down so very simple.just put the seat on top and mark where you need to drill the seat holes.
remove seat and drill, then bolt seats down using something like m10 or above make sure you use high tensile bolts.

Hopefully going to get a start on this at the weekend, my skills are few, but my enthusiasm is infectious!

Having a bit of trouble with this, it seems that the ST seats do not fit on the plates. You will see in the pictures below that the mounting point sits outside of the plate. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or if the plates have been made wrongly?

The problem is that the inside rear plate does not meet with the subframe for the Recaro seat. It would have to move over an inch but it feel solid underneath there so I wouldn't be able to get a bolt in?

Pic 1 - shows the plates, notice the differences around the centre console to the photo above

Pic 2 - shows the problem area where the subframe misses the plate next to the centre console

Did the above issues get sorted? What was the problem in the end?
