Bumper choice?

Postby Willywonker007 » Wed Feb 13, 2013 6:22 am

Most of the connect peeps out there change the front bumper, I have a 2004 bumper and am looking to changing it.

Which one do people recommend and what about the grill bit, do you change the arches as well or leave them as the ones that come with the van?

It really depends on style, As either a front bumper for a 2006-2009 connect (mk2) is a straight fit but will require both front plastic wheel arch trims. the mk2 grille also is a straight fit but you will need the replace the bonnet lock key barrel, As the original will be too short.

Also the front bumper for the connects 2009-onwards (lastest shape) will also fit, but there more parts involved.

well Im thinking of a 2006-2009 bumper (one with long spot light holes) so i will have to look for plastic wheel arches as well then, did you get yours from ford or a after market shop, i will be doing the grill but might leave it as standard or cant i do that?

Ive already ordered the steering wheel and gear knob so im ticking the list off as i go lol

Thanks for all the advise and help paul2012as i know you have modded a couple of connect vans :) :)

I'm going for a fiesta ST steering wheel and knob plus I know they fit also with a set of 18" focus ST multi spoke alloys on order too, white Insers with chrome spokes

Yes you can fit your mk1 grill with a mk2 bumper.

If you do change to a mk2 grill you will have to either change the bonnet as well or weld up the recess for ford badge. Otherwise you will end up with 2 ford badges
