If you are going to change the wheel bearings make sure you put quality ones in there place like genuine ford ones or branded ..SKF , Timpken , FAG, NSK - or they will fail in less than 15,000 miles..note you need a hydraulic press to change these, plus adaptors to push them out and into the hub. walloping with a hammer may damage or shorten the life of them.
They usually break apart when pulling them out of the hubs leaving behind the inner bearing race on the stub axle, which you have to cut off with an angle grinder.
Pressing on the wrong surface when installing can also destroy them.
So not a DIY job unless you have the right tools.
regarding presses ..i bought a band new 30 tonne one off ebay about 10 years ago ..for £130 delivered - self assembly - good bit of kit.
Cant find any on there now for less than £650
