Could be a faulty CL module. Mine only worked with the keys in the doors at first, but the cycling worked. It came with a 'seperate ford fob' but never worked well even after re-pairing. So went down the line of a new genuine 'focus' key fob. Has worked fine ever since. I would be surprised if your van hasn't got remote central locking to be honest. So sounds like a CL module problem. Not an expert on this, just know that what I did worked, as the 'ignition on-off pairing' worked, and went from there. Definitely does sound like a case of worn keys though too!
Good luck pal

small update decided to change the lock mechanism on the bonnet it was getting to hard to get the key to work properly and was only a matter of time before it stopped working altogether, so got one of them new barrels with 2x keys took the old mechanism off and it was caked in Gritt grease and what ever els was on it full of crud in othere words !
so i soaked it in brake cleaner for a while then give it a good cleaning with an old toothbrush well its old now lol
i will give the mechanism a good wipe over then put some fresh lubricant in and on it i have 3x different things in the shed i could use which one do you think i would be better using?
Vaseline, normal grease and copper slip?

Decent bit of normal grease should do it m8. Just make sure you work it back and forth to get it smooth before you refit it. And a small smear on the bolts should help it fit back and hold off the water ingress in the bolt holes a tad.

Just to be controversial, I'm going to say that you should only use a graphite grease in a lock, due to the fact that normal grease solidifies over time, and will actually jam the lock eventually.

You can buy it in a small spray which is useful to spray inside the locks from time to time.

re fitted the bonnet lock mechanism with new barrel, decided to get some of that graphite grease smothered the insides of the mechanism with it and now works like new :D
