Puddle of water in drivers footwell

Postby Transit-man-van » Sat Nov 18, 2023 7:43 am

Puddle of water in drivers footwell even after resticking the seal around door. Might even be happening when not raining and coming from engine somewhere when driving.

The seal had gone quite a bit and was flapping about. I thought oh this will be an easy fix! So I sikaflexed that, made a good seal, but it doesnt seem to have done anything to stop water coming in.

What I did notice is it hadnt been happening for a while when I was parked for the week and I think it had even been raining some of that time.

The day I go out driving though, it was dry all that time that I recall, after some hours the water had formed.

I have had a feel around where the pedals are but have not been able to notice any damp besides the big puddle where the feet go.

So it is still rather a mystery to me.

Any ideas?

Note in my answers i cover mk1 and mk2 ...and talk about opening in the chassis behind wheel that directs water into chassis

problem is still not resolved for this guy ......mine ..i park it down hill in drive no problems ..up hill in drive problems ..so it stays parking down hill ..

and there has been a lot of rain and flooding recently .

all the best.mark
