weird coolant level

hi all and thank you for letting me join i have an on going issue with my 2015 transit connect1,6 tdci it has the psa or peugeot diesel engine ive owned it for a year now evey day i go to the coolant tank and the level isalmost empty so i have to gentley open the cap and then air reurns in to the tank and the level returns back to to max level it doesnt leak coolant and does not over heat i have replaced the coolant tank cap and the thermo stat with the housing and it still does it im pretty on mech stuff but this is really baffeling me i have just bought a new oil cooler and egr valve cooler as i mech who was ford rained said it mite be them with mineute pin holes in one of them i suggested the head gasket and wastold they never go on these engines i have not done a pressure test onit as of yet hoping that someone has had the same prob and a poss solution to the issue

when you open the cap on a cold engine does it make a sound like its letting air in or out ..like opening a bottle of pop.

Do any of the hoses look like they are squeezed before you undo the cap.

plus i don't know this engine ..it could be just a normal thing for it to do.

But if it does have collapsed hoses - that can be a sign of head gasket failure ...note head gasket failure can go on for months before it fails completely ,...and has lots of confusing symptoms can have you baffled right up to the point when it fails completely.

Get one of those cheap sniff test things off ebay .

note: very recent last 6 months - . some are repurposed demi-john bubbler - home brew, air trap things, that look dodgy and may not work! - wrong chemicals or no chemicals or fake chemicals con. - these appeared in the last six months and have almost wiped out sales of the genuine kits ...so make your purchase wisely.
