Turbo Issue

Postby Nareik » Mon Jan 15, 2024 1:22 pm

Hello All,

I'm after some help if possible - I have a 2014 Ford Transit Connect V408 Van 1.6 TDCi Diesel 115 hp and on the way home the other night it completely lost power and the engine management light illuminated. It hasn't limited the speed/revs of the van however it's extremely slow getting up too speed without the turbo.

The two codes that are present are:
- P0045
- P2598

I've had a look online and things seem to points towards the Turbo actuator. I was just hoping someone may be able to shed some light on a potential route for fixing this without breaking the bank - times are hard after Christmas!

Pictures would be helpful if I need to remove a lot to get too the actuator.

Thanks in advance, and help would be appreciated.

well ive got a picture from the net ..and I've put an arrow on it to show the actuator ..i'm not familiar with this engine so cant tell you if its on the back or the front ..but that is the actuator .

could also be the rubber tube going to it that is at fault ..infact more likely to be that. they often split.

note this is a ford/Peugeot engine that shares spares with Peugeot.

You're looking at the engine from the passenger wing side, so the left hand side in your piccy faces the front of the vehicle :)

Awesome, thanks for that. I've just taken a look and it's right there at the front which should make things a little easier! I'll take a look at the rubber tube first and see if i can see any cracks/splits.

Thanks again :)

It's easier to see/get at if you take out the airbox, and the tube connecting it to the turbo. It only take a minute or two :)

So, I have gone to change the boost sensor and the 2 pin plug that comes from the loom has broken wires. so I'm guessing that'll be my problem!

I cannot for the life of me find this plug, I can see other 2 pin plugs but not this one. Anyone know where I can get one?
