Rear Axle Beam Bushings - FORD Transit Connect - 2016

Postby rcastmitchel001 » Fri May 17, 2024 7:34 pm

Hello Transit Connect-Tourneo fellow humans...

Ive bee searching for the torque specs on the Rear Axle Main Bushing assembly (circled here). I am planning to replace these bushings, but from a few service manuals I have gathered, the available torque specs are those to the upper mount bracket (4-bolts), not the main bolt that attaches the axle with the bracket pressing against the bush. Any guidance is well appreciated!

This is for a 2016 Ford Tourneo/LWB 500V-510V (2.5L gas- Automatic).

(NO OE ford CONNECT MANUAL -YET)
well i looked it up ..and your rear suspension is closest in design to a fiesta mk7

see here https://www.catcar.info/ford/?lang=en&l ... M3NDQrMTMx

And after searching a bit i found this :_

https://www.trackey.ford.com/download/i ... 3-FAEB.pdf

scroll down to "step 30"
1. Install axle to subframe brackets using the trailing arm bolts.
• To install, tighten to 80Nm (59 lb-ft) then tighten additional 120 degrees

sorry best i can do - remember this is pure guess work

think the weight of the van has to be on the wheels before you tighten

all the best.mark
