Adding Sub/Amp to 2018 facelift Connect

Hope all well.

I am slightly stuck!

I have a 2018 facelift connect and am trying to add a sub amp to the stock stereo

I have spliced through the speakers via a line output but getting no signal down to the amp.

Please assist - could it be down to the sync system?
