is this the correct plug?

Postby pierresmith » Mon Jul 22, 2024 3:05 pm

Hi Gents,

I need a favour ! Struggling to get my engine started after recent engine swap on my 2011 Connect 1.8tdci, I just want to make sure I have plugged my wiring loom back in correctly.
In my haste to strip the loom off the engine before I took the engine out I didn't label all the plugs - lesson learnt, I will take my time if I do this again.
I attach an image with this post, I wondered if anyone has a Connect similar year to mine if you could please pop your bonnet and check if the wiring colour on yours matches the wires which comes out of the two pin connector shown?
The connector in question is on the top/front of the high pressure fuel pump, if you look more or less directly below your intercooler you will see it.

If anyone could check the colour if the wires on yours it would be a big help.

Many thanks,

Pete

mines a TDDI, so no good checking

but this pic from ebay should give you some clues

i don't know what's going on,the orange plug appears to be different, yours appears to be slanted not plugged in right or has an adaptor thing between it.

Hi Mark,
The connector in my photo is not fully plugged in, sorry if that confused you!
As I said in my post unfortunately I didn't label my wiring loom when I took it off, and in the vicinity of the high pressure pump there are 3 two pin connectors.
One plugs into the sensor on the fuel return line near injector 1, one plugs into the high pressure pump as shown on my photo, and there's another one which is kind of under/behind the pressure regulator.
At least one of these two pin connectors will fit more than one location, and I've got myself a bit confused as to what goes where.
Would you have access to an engine bay wiring diagram ? A schematic would hopefully tell me which wire colours go to the relative connectors.
Or I might need to find someone locally who has a van similar year and ask if I can look under their bonnet!

Wiring looks same but my connectors orange, you’ve actually done me a favour as the coolant hose was rubbing on the cable……
