2010 Transit Connect ignition issue?

Hi guys, I’m in uncharted territory and could use some help. I purchased a 2010 Ford Transit Connect xlt cargo yesterday. Got it home and parked it. While familiarizing myself with the car I discovered a small fob on the key chain. Turns out it is a remote start fob. After going through the steps to start, the van came to life as it should. Upon entering the vehicle I inserted the key into the ignition and turned it to the on position. My intention was to go for a quick ride. As soon as my foot touched the brake the van shut down. I then tried to to turn the transit back on with the key, got nothing. I can still get the transit to start using the remote start process, but it will not start the traditional way with the key. It worked just fine before I discovered and used the remote start process start feature. All that said, I would be extremely grateful for any help,assistance, or feedback?

Could be that it has something called Remote immobilisation, this is a box of tricks hidden under the dash somewhere ,...used to immobilise a car or van from a long distance away, usually fitted to fleet vehicles and hire vehicles.

that would be my first check.......sorry don't know any more - only you have to get in touch with last owner if it has one ,.
