Glass or no.

Postby ralf » Mon Dec 16, 2024 8:26 pm

Hi, Looking at getting a Connect and converting for camping. Is it better to have lots of glass or less? Thinking about security, condensation and insulation. Plan to travel the French and Spanish coasts.

Take care,

Ralf.

This is really a question of preference and what climate conditions you will be camping in.

But I would choose a non-windowed van to start. Glass is really bad for insulation and it can amplify the heat from the sun.
Having no factory installed windows also gives you the freedom of installing a small window, should you change your mind later. A small window is better for security and keeping outside temperatures out.
Spain and France have warmer climates, so at least you don't need as much insulation in general.
