2013 1.8 TDCI manual fault codes

Hi, recently purchased my transit connect, it’s got 150k on it but driving mostly good. I’ve changed fuel and air filters which has improved performance, but Im getting the following codes and engine malfunction lights when I put my foot down to go up a hill or overtake, and the turbo stops working. Switching the ignition off and on again gets it working again.

P02E1 - Intake air flap control actuator - performance problem - confirmed
P0299 - Turbocharger (TC)/supercharger (SC) - low boost - pending
P010F - MAF sensor or VAF sensor A/B - correlation - pending

Any likely culprits?

p02e1 refers to something that the transit connect 1.8 does not have - a throttle body.... i think. so read forscan advice I've given below as that code does not appear here often - only by generic code readers.

other codes suggest to me

You should be checking the EGR valve-- take apart and service , clean make sure not sticking open. - this is a regular job that should be done every couple of years ....or it will end up stuck open or stuck closed or even burn out the motor.

Check for leaks in boost pipes

Check function of turbo actuator

Clean maf sensor - maf sensor not necessarily at fault as its monitoring the air flow and reporting as wrong for rpm and conditions, there is no vaf sensor

NOTE: and use forscan to get correct fault codes with proper explanation of them - your generic fault code reader may be somewhat misleading
