My 2003 tddi transit no longer wants to start

Postby pakal » Wed Apr 16, 2025 1:38 pm

Can someone help me, I have a 2003 Ford Transit Connect MK1 TDDI, he broke down overnight, he didn't want to start, it has 238000km and run fine before.
Forscan gave the error codes p1564, p1664, p1665.
The ECU was repaired, the engine started well after and the car has worked about twenty kilometers.
The next morning impossible to start. I returned the ECU in warranty repair. The technician did not find anything abnormal but still replaced the mosfet. I went up the ECU with a new diesel filter, I bleeded the fuel circuit, the car starts but die immediately. Now I have error codes P1563 and P1664, I also changed the crankshaft sensor. The measurement solenoid is well powered and testing it with a lithium battery, i can hear it clicking.
The timing solenoid is not in short circuit its resistance is around 10 ohm. I put a starting pear, it hardens well but when engine start it softened. I don't know what to do anymore, would you have an idea?

those faults i think refer to the EDC , cant be sure -

P1563 - Injection pump solenoid control module requesting engine stop
P1164 - Injection pump solenoid control module malfunction

this an electronic control module that sits on top of the pump ..it is a common fail. on the TDDI's fitted to mk6 and connects

not done one myself search whole forum for EDC repair

think the hi-pressure pump has to be taken out and the whole thing sent to company called "ecu repair. com the most recommended repairer here

if this has already been done and you are mistaking edc for ecu because the connects ECU is called PCM

let us know in your next post.

Indeed I was wrong, it was the EDC I wanted to talk about not ECU.
He was repaired by a specialized company.

Today I swapped the EDC with one from a used pump and the car started, so it was the EDC that was faulty.
The repair was poorly done despite being sent back under warranty :(
