NOT ASKING TO DRIVE TO REGEN

Postby smar344 » Mon May 12, 2025 3:36 pm

I am no longer getting the message that comes up and says to drive to clean the DPF of my 2020 1.5 diesel Ford Transit Connect. Instead I am just getting the amber engine warning light coming on. So far I have had the DPF pressure sensor replaced, the intercooler hose has been replaced as it split, the battery has been replaced, Knox sensor was replaced, It has had a static regen by a Forddealer, it has had the adblue nozzle cleaned and another regen, and the DPF has been cleaned twice, it’s also had a full service too, this has all happened over the last 6 months or so. Has anyone had this happen to their Transit connect, if so what was the repair that you had done to fix this issue please? This is not a DPF problem, I believe this is a problem with something else not allowing the regen to happen, probably a sensor thats faulty. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

There is only one thing to do to find out what it is, that is plug in a scanner .

Forscan - that's what they recommend here .

NOTE: you can use forscan to get correct fault codes with proper explanation of them - a generic fault code reader may be somewhat misleading

"Forscan" is FREE software that you download to a laptop..you buy the interface cable -- this is just the cable you need a laptop)
You can join the forscan forum ..again free, to get the software and more answers.

https://forscan.org/forum/

without - you are lost ..must be done this way .

then you come here list the fault codes here ..and we will work on solving the problem

or if you use a cheap scanner

here is a list of all ford fault codes

Hi Metalworker0, it's been on numerous scanners at ford dealers and various other garages. But hey don’t really know what they are doing especially at ford dealers! they just see that the DPF is full and do a regen, they aren't looking for the underlying fault that stops the van asking to be driven to regen.

All the better you start doing your own diagnosing then.

With forscan you can drive and see whats going on , see what comes up in real time "live data mode" see what's really happening, if ford dealer did this.

Sorry, this is the only way forward.

all you can do tyyoureself is

check van is coming up to temperature on the gauges
check wiring for visible faults and looseness on the connectors to sensors .
check battery is fully charged and is charging and in good health

check earths and positives to battery to body, battery terminals

check for more leaks in the turbo system boost pipes ,

check all vacuum hoses

that's about it

If anyone has had this problem, please feel free to chip in anytime. I have the van booked in again at another ford specialist tomorrow, if he comes back with anything I’ll post it on here again.
Thanks all
