Intercooler hoses 1.8 tddi mk1

Postby metalworker0 » Sat Jul 04, 2026 5:35 pm

After installing new intercooler, couple of months back, ive noticed now that the vac pipe has rubbed through the one of the hoses. and the other isn't far behind.

Looking at ebay, all sorts of prices, from low to very high and a bit confused over which ones to get, as on the diagrams it has two part numbers .. and no explanation, as to what fits which

part numbers 1201165 or 5050745

Wonder if its because there are two designs of intercooler .. a sloping one and a vertical one

i have this one the sloping one

NOT this one

As far as these hoses go, the price range is vast

and there are strait silicone ones that are bright blue (somehow i cant see them flexing very much , which may cause a problem, are these short lived?)

but i also found silicone convoluted ones at a low price here - best deal i could find for two and as its happens, i wasn't looking for silicone, they are silicone .

Again, i don't know if some are shorter than others with the different intercoolers ..
ebay sellers don't know either by the looks of things.

What do you guys think

all the best.mark
