Gearbox Numbers?? What do they mean??

My connect gearbox has very bad "thrash" problems. I fitted a new clutch & Flywheel to try and solve the problem but this did not solve the problem. I am looking for another gearbox. I was told a Ford Focus box would fit but the variation of gearbox numbers has me confused.

My Connect box number is a 2T1R 7002 BC but the Focus box numbers seem to start XS4R and then either 7201 or 7002.

Can anyone tell me what the differences might be and what is compatible??

yeah numbers sometimes are confusing,as long as it's got the speedo drive in the same place u should be ok......i changed the turbo on mine,it was for the focus/mondy with different numbers but was exactly the same let us know how u get on
