prep for 75ps remap?

Postby veloce » Thu Sep 06, 2012 10:50 am

Hi all,

Iam hoping to fit the EGR valve to my 75ps this weekend.
I did the Focus airbox mod last week and am considering gutting out the cat.
I have been told that the tddi can get a bit grouchy with messing about on the cat.
Has anyone carried out these mods and then remapped, without any issues?
thanks in advance

Hi
I have a de cat on my van and also i have a stainless exhaust on my van.
Yet to fit my focus airbox and cold air scoop and yet to blank EGR but van performance has improved with the de cat and the stainless exhaust and have yet to get Vantuner to remap.

I have a 90tdci, and the prep I've done so far is the focus air box and hose, EGR blank, and K&N pannle filter, not sure on de-cat due to possible mot problems, but would probably do that before the remap aswell :)

De-cat will give excellent results. Diesels don't require a cat for the mot, although if one is fitted oem then it has to be present for mot. Easiest route is to remove the inners from your cat, no-one will ever know ;-)

thanks for the responses, yes I saw the guides on doing it, might give it a go.

The focus airbox mod made a surprising difference, more than I thought it would.
Next up the EGR blank..
