Connect Pulling to the left under acceleration?

Postby Rob D. » Thu Sep 06, 2012 3:18 pm

Hi all new here but been lurking awhile.
I've just picked up my new Connect to replace my old one that was written off  and I've noticed it pulls to the passenger side under load, mainly in 2nd gear.
Any Ideas what could cause this? I'm just about to get it up in the air and have a proper nosey but cant see anything obvious?

Thanks in advance.

Rob.

check tread depths are near equal, same pattern.
our connect wares passeger tyre sooner than drivers and can drive really odd if you have a puncture on front and put spare on.

could be a lower arm bush totally screwed and as you accelerate the arm is moving causing the vehicle to pull

 A worn drive shaft joint can cause the shaft to rotate slightly behind the one on the other side, giving torque steer symptoms

Thanks for the replies, sadly its not new just new to me. Found the problem, the lower ball joint wasn't tightend up  there was a good 1/8th of an inch gap between the nut and lower wishbone. It just begs the question how it was left like that? When I said pulling to the left it was a gradual pull under acceleration then a violent throw back towards the middle of the road when you let off the throttle.
