Not many Trannys will cope with the 4 and3/4 tonnes of 5000 litres plus tanks!

And you actually sat there and worked out its weight ROFL. :?
Well I have to disagree as Mod Your Transit's new height adjustable suspension system for the Transit MK5, 6 and 7 should help me with the weight issue.
You can call Mod Your Transit or visit them at www.modyourtransit.co.uk

Not a hard sum:- diesel floats on water and is therefore thinner. Not as thin as petrol. Guess its around 80% the weight of water, which, as we all know is 1 kilogram per litre. By the time you add tankage, it has to be over five tonnes (a tonne is 1000 kilos, a ton is around 37 pounds (18 kilo more))
Wheres your five ton transit?
Now I know a transit will carry it , if you can get it in, but its not very legal.

Even more to the point, a connect, which is still a focus WONT carry it, and I dont think you could get it in either!
By the way, I still need to know if the 1.8tdci is good on veg oil.

Diesel price is £1.38 at Murco in stoke ferry today, so I filled the tank right up & went back again & filled the tank in my Vauxhall Insignia first thing this morning

They were very busy with loads of people queing to get fuel, But when I went passed late this afternoon prices was back up to £1.41

GKandR4CH wrote:Peter, I'd drive the 2470 miles there, fill up and bring loads of it back in the Transit. Of course trying to avoid customs on the way back as I would not want to be clobbered with 5000 litres of fuel duty to pay!! :D
But seriously we are being ripped off left right and centre in the UK.

    what in the connect :?:

as for size, 5000 litres is 5 cubic metres !!!

Transits Connects (T220 legal maximum payload weight is less then 1ton (825Kg to be exact) - (T200 is 625Kg) - NO CHANCE IN TO GET 5000 LITRES IN THERE

Even the New Transit 350 LWB legal maximun payload weight is only 1.7ton (1794KG to be exact) - WOULD FIT BUT IS ONE HELL OF A TANK !! AS IT WOULD TAKE UP THE WHOLE LOADING SPACE (FROM SEATS TO REAR DOORS & FROM FLOOR TO ROOF)
