03 transit connect 'HEATING NOT WORKING'

Hi, my heating doesnt work in my van, it just blows out cold air, i have the van about 3 months, when i first had it it worked once or twice, i then serviced the van and also flushed out the heating system and refilled it with coolent, the heating worked again for a couple of minutes and hasnt worked since which was a couple of months ago, can anyone help me please?

Coud be the heater dial.. Might be worth a look on ebay for one as a cheap way to tick a possible fault off the list?

When I turn the the dial from hot to cold there's a difference in sound, would that mean the dial is ok

Did you make sure the rad hoses got hot after you flushed it? If not and they are Luke warm when the temp gauge is in the middle then you've got an air lock.

There’s an inline valve in one of the pipes from the expansion tank to the thermostat, i took mine off today as i had no heat just cold air blowing, and used my compressor to blow air through it to clean it as they get gunked up, which stops the water from circulating

If it is an airlock how do I get the air out?

To John 3022, is your heating working now that you blew the gunk out?

Yes heating is working now, looking at the expansion tank it’s the pipe on the right which goes to the thermostat, the valve is located closer to the tank and if you feel the pipe there will be a bit thats hard , have you also checked your thermostat is working.
