That looks like the rear door loom Ford fitted after being returned after a recall notice was issued, due to a security Flaw with the wiring !

My door loom is the one with the white loomguard around. I don't have that tubing.

Strange, I have the same on both side, same as your passenger side door, do you know if this has been recalled by Fords for the mod. we cant fit loomguards to the side with the rubber conduit style cable cover as it will for sure get trapped in there when you shut the door

No, it has no record of being recalled. I specifically asked the ford dealership if it had been recalled, they said no, and that they had never heard of the problem with looms being cut and exposing a security risk.

odd huh? Do you think they just changed the design from a certain date onwards? Maybe the more solid looking looms are harder to cut??

The flaw was when the o/s rear door loom was cut the van would automatically unlock all doors.

Ford have been aware of this defect since 2002 -it has also been mentioned on here before

My door looms on both rear doors in hard plastic tubing, exactly the same in the pic with with loom guard around it (My van is a 2003 !)

According to EMG Ford, It did have a recall on the defect & was rectified.
