Transit connect(IS ALTENATOR A BIG JOB)

Postby poppeye » Sat Oct 13, 2012 4:10 pm

My battery went dead on my van, I charged it up and the van starts but the battery light stays on, the battery dies after a short journey, I'm presuming its the altenator because that should be charging my battery, I could be wrong

On the TDCi the alternator is easy to change, if you do need to replace it.

two bolts and a bolt for the main electrical connection plus a harness plug. With the van up on drive-on ramps I replaced mine in twenty minutes.
But chances are it's the wiring loom that's failed, as already suggested.

Is the wiring loom hard to replace?
